Friday’s basketball roundup

Meadowview pulled out a region win over Escambia on Friday.

The Trojans won 47-44 with Kayla Kaldor leading the team in points. Kaldor scored 12, had seven assists and two steals.

Tamara Stacey had nine rebounds and points. Katherine Kaldor followed up with not only eight points, but five rebounds, two steals and one block added on to her stats. Adrienne Hitt also had eight points.

Amber Huskey and Kayleigh Miller led Escambia with 12 points each.

The Trojans play Lowndes at home Sat. at 2 p.m.

R.C. Hatch 64, St. Jude 47

The R.C. Hatch girls lost to St. Jude 64-47 on Friday.

Alnecia Abraham led the Bobcats with 15 points. Aralia Boddie followed closely behind with nine.

Daquicha Coleman showed strong offense and defense in the game with eight points and 14 rebounds. Tiara Scott also showed strength in both with six points and 12 rebounds.

Boys basketball

R.C. Hatch 64, St. Jude 60

R.C. Hatch edged out St. Jude 64-60 on Friday.

Lee Anthony Smith led the Bobcats with 17 points and also had three assists, one steal and four rebounds.

Trenton Tucker scored 13 points, Trence Askew scored nine points and Brandon Battle added 12 points and had 12 rebounds.

Ernest Strother rounded out the Bobcat leaders with nine points and three assists.

Meadowview 67, Escambia 47

Meadowview earned a 67-47 win over Escambia on Friday.

J.R. Lowe led the Trojans with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Daniel Blackmon added 16 points and 10 rebounds and Justin Freine finished with 15 points and six rebounds.

Blake Curt led Escambia with 16 points.
