The R. C. Hatch Lady Bobcats (8-6), 2-1) outscored the Francis Marion Lady Rams 20-7 the last five minutes of the first quarter and the first two minutes of the second quarter, then never looked back en route to a 73-36 win over its area foe.

“Our game plan was to match up man-to-man along with a full-court press until we got a sizeable lead,” said Lady Bobcat coach John Abraham. “We’re at full strength since the beginning of the season, so we were able to take advantage of our bench.”

Hatch’s domination of the boards helped the Bobcats to a 40-18 first half advantage, with 25 of those points being scored in the second quarter. DaQuicha Coleman had 10 points at the half for the Lady Bobcats.

Hatch padded its lead with 35 points in the third quarter, as the Bobcats continued to take advantage of the boards, which led to several second chance points. R.C. Hatch coasted the rest of the way for the win.

“We made too many mistakes tonight,” said Francis Marion head coach Mike Bedell. “Hatch were able to capitalize on most of our miscues. We have to go back to the drawing board.”

Ashley Wilkens recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists for the Lady Bobcats. She had four steals and eight rebounds. Coleman finished with 12 points. Marchae Wright added 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Tierra Scott pulled down 11 rebounds.

Jasmin Morton led the Lady Rams (4-6, 1-3) with 11 points.
