Tigers win fifth straight

Tay Waller scored 14 points, and Korvotney Barber added 11 points and eight rebounds to lead Auburn to its fifth straight victory in an 82-40 win over Alabama A&M.

Both only played 22 minutes.

Frankie Sullivan had 12 points and six rebounds in 30 minutes, DeWayne Reed notched 10 points and Quantez Robertson totaled eight points, six rebounds and six assists. Robertson moved into fifth on Auburn’s all-time assist list with 467. Johnnie Lett scored a career-high eight points in 17 minutes.

Leading 18-12, Auburn (8-4) went on a 10-0 run over a five-minute period to take a 28-12 lead with 9:33 left in the half as Alabama A&M (2-6) went scoreless for seven minutes.

The Tigers then coasted to a 46-28 halftime lead as they made 9-of-15 (.600) shots from 3-point range.

“This was the best we shot the ball all season,” said Auburn head coach Jeff Lebo. “Defensively in the second half, every shot they had was contested.”

Auburn has only allowed 51.0 points per game in its last five games and has won a pair of games this season by 42 points or more.

Trant Simpson was the only Bulldog to score in double figures as he led Alabama A&M with 15 points.
