Governor Bob Riley has created a task force to investigate gambling operations throughout the state.
Riley announced Monday the task force is being headed by former Jefferson County District Attorney David Barber.
The governor contends that many electronic bingo machines are actually illegal slot machines.
Riley also said he will oppose any efforts in the upcoming Legislative session to expand and tax gambling.
He said any tax revenue the state received would pale next to the profits received by gambling operators.
