Bobby Gene Sims, age 65, a resi-dent of Selma, AL, passed away December 23, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Jewel Sims and brothers, Charles Sims and Larry Sims.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Sims; sons, Larry Smith of Joplin, MO and James Smith of Jemison, AL; daughters, Brandy (Kerry Ray) Hughes of Fort Paynes, AL and Melissa “Missy”(Tommy) Patterson of Demopolis, AL; grandchildren. Kerian Hughes, Jeannie Creel, Cheyanne Smith and Devyn Acker and an aunt, Mary Lester.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 2:00 at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Glen Gables and Rev. Matthew J. Kelley officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home direct-ing. The family will receive friends Friday, December 26, 2008 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Richard-son, Kerry Ray Hughes, Doyle Wil-son, Jeff Vining, Jerry Hughes and Jerry Vining, Jr. Honorary pall-bearers will be Jeff Sims, Jamie Sims, Bo Sims, Jesse Sims, Faith Sims and officers of the Selma Moose Lodge and the Selma VFW.
