Saints take Keith Christmas Tournament
Selma earned the Keith Christmas Tournament championship on Wednesday with a 52-40 over Saint Jude on Wednesday.
The No. 3 Saints struggled early, trailing the Pirates 10-9 after a quarter, then 18-14 in the second quarter. But that’s when Ashley Grimes heated up, knocking down two crucial 3-pointers to put Selma ahead 20-18. The Saints (18-3) wouldn’t trail the rest of the way.
“It was a tough ballgame,” said Selma coach Anthony Harris. “We put it together down the stretch.”
Keisha Moore led all scorers with 18 points. Kamesha Strong added 16 points and Grimes finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Shandray Davis led St. Jude (10-4) with 15 points.
