Peace on Earth

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Luke 2: 10-14)
What a wonderful message for Christians, who, today, celebrate the coming of the messiah.
But important to all are the final words of the heavenly host — peace and goodwill.
So many times in the day-to-day rush of getting and spending, we forget that we are all from one family. Our languages and cultures might be different; our belief systems may vary, yet we are one people.
In this winter solstice of death with the coming of spring and rebirth, we should remember the angels voices — stop and water the seeds of loving kindness within each soul by showing one another loving kindness — being ever mindful of our sameness.
