Cars waited in lines at gas stations all around Selma Wednesday. People pumped gasoline into sedans, pickup trucks, SUVs and even ATVs.
Yvonne Harris of Selma was filling up her Nissan SUV at the Raceway on Highland Avenue. Regular unleaded gasoline costs $1.54 a gallon at the Raceway. Harris said she is satisfied with current gas prices.
“Right now, gas prices are decent,” she said.
At the Murphy’s USA on Highland Avenue, cars were lined up three and four deep at each pump. There were Dallas County license plates, and plates from as far away as Georgia and Indiana filing up with $1.54 regular unleaded gasoline.
Michael Green was returning to his hometown from Indiana to spend Christmas with his family. He said lower gas prices have made it a little easier to fill up his maroon sedan more often.
“It’s been alright,” he said of his trip down South.
