One lucky fan can claim $10,000 at halftime of the Dec. 20 Wilcox Central-Selma basketball game.

One name will be drawn at the game, but that only earns the opportunity. That person must make a series of shots including a layup, free throw, 3-pointer and midcourt shot within 24 seconds.

The shootout is a booster club fundraiser. Tickets are on sale now for $5 and will be sold through the first quarter of the game.

“We’re hoping to pack the house Saturday night and hoping someone claims the $10,000 prize,” said S-Team vice president Victor Inge. “That’s a lot of money for 24 seconds of work.”

Booster members, family members and vendors aren’t eligible. Neither are current high school, college, professional or semi-professional players. All eligible participants are required to have been out of the game for at least six years.
