Hazardous weather possible Tuesday and Wednesday
Severe thunderstorms are possible from 9 p.m. Tuesday through 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
The Dallas County Emergency Management Agency released a weather statement earlier today, alerting local residents to the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms moving through the Black Belt region as a strong cold front moves across Central Alabama.
The threat area is mainly along and west of a line extending from Gadsden down to Birmingham and Selma. The main threat will be damaging straight-line winds, but isolated tornadoes could not be ruled out.
