Earnest V. Acoff Sr., 50, of Dallas County-Selma, died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at his home. Services are scheduled for 12:00 Noon, Saturday, November 15th, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Chester Purifoy officiating. Burial will follow in White Cemetery under the direction of Walker Mortuary.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Acoff and father, Jimmy Acoff.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Acoff; three sons, Earnest V. Acoff Jr. (Maria), Jimmy L. Acoff (Kim), and Cedric J. Acoff; daughter, Ebony D. Acoff; three brothers, William (Linda) Acoff – Selma, AL, Clarence (Fannie) Acoff – Irvington, NJ, and Gregory (Berlinda) Acoff – Dothan, AL; seven sisters, Mary Riggs, Janet (Eddie) Wade, and Katherine (William) Elder – Cleveland, OH, Emma Freeman and Della (Dawson) Milhouse – Selma, AL, Ora Jean Shelton and Thomasine (Hobby) Fletcher – Newark, NJ; five grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law.
Active pallbearers will be David Acoff, Shadrick Turner, Eric Pope, James Bonner, Frank Bonner, Paul Acoff, David Acoff (Bug), and Christopher Bonner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Horace Pope, Gus Pope, Fennigan Bonner, Matthew Charles Oliver Bonner Sr., Joe Acoff, and Gregory Acoff.
