Valley Grande Golf Course hosted the annual “Big One” tournament Nov. 1, with 33 two-man teams vying for $3,300 in cash prizes along with two three-day vacations and two putters that were given away for closest to the pin. Selma’s Pepsi Bottling Company was the main sponsor for the tournament.
“This tournament was a huge success,” said course supervisor Rex Bible. “Pepsi has done so much for us. It was probably the best tournament we’ve had since I’ve been here.”
Bible said this is the second year Valley Grande Golf Course has hosted the tournament and he hopes next year they’ll be able to give away even more prizes.
“We’re already working on next year’s tournament and we hope to be able to give away 10,000 ‘big ones’ next year.”
