State Board of Education races in early returns
Early returns show all three incumbents for the State Board of Education leading in their bids to keep their seats.
In the unofficial count Tuesday night, Republican Randy McKinney of Gulf Shores lead his Democratic challenger Kenyon Berry for the District 1 seat, and Democrat Ella Bell of Montgomery was ahead of Republican opponent Lula Bridges in District 5.
Veteran Republican board member Stephanie Bell of Montgomery led the District 3 race against Democrat Judy West Bell of Jacksonville, while Republican Garry Warren was ahead of Democrat Earl Gardner to fill the seat of retiring Democrat Sandra Ray in District 7.
