Black Belt Treasures receives $3,000 grant

CAMDEN — Black Belt Treasures has received a grant of $3,200 from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the state arts agency said recently.

The grant will make possible the Stitches & Blues event, which will be held on Sat., Nov. 8, 2008, at the Black Belt Treasures Gallery in historic downtown Camden. The event will showcase artists from the Black Belt region who stitch or weave their creative works.

The day’s events will also feature story telling by Kathryn Tucker Windham and a concert by Alabama Blues musician, Willie King. The public is invited to participate in all the activities of the Stitches & Blues event free of charge. For information visit www.blackbelttreasures.com.
