Wallace falls to Southern Union at home

The Wallace Community College Selma volleyball team fell to Southern Union State Community College on Wednesday evening in Selma.
The Lady Bisons took the match 25-13, 16-25, 25-14 and 25-6.
“I think we played well,” said Lady Patriot assistant coach Antoinette Blevins. “Overall, we’re getting better.”
The Lady Bisons jumped to a 5-0 lead in game one, and cruised to the 25-13 win. They also jumped to a 5-1 lead in game two.
But momentum swung in favor of the Lady Patriots after Blevins was ejected for cheering at the scorer’s table.
“It’s a mind game,” said Blevins. “If the girls feel like you’ve got their back, it motivates them.”
The Lady Patriots broke a 14-14 tie with two consecutive blocked shots Lesse Scott and Tameka Cotton. They outscored the Lady Bisons 9-2 to clinch the game.
However, Southern Union bounced back.
The Lady Bisons galloped to a 20-9 lead in game three and and traded points with the Lady Patriots for the win.
In the final game, they led 6-0 then increased their lead to 15-5, and outscored the Lady Patriots 10-1 to clinch the match.
