Hearing set for freezer case suspect in South Alabama
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday for a part-time south Alabama evangelist who’s charged with killing his wife, a mother of eight whose body had been stored in a freezer for at least three years.
Anthony Hopkins has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of 36-year-old Arletha Hopkins.
Hopkins has also pleaded not guilty to separate charges of sexual abuse, rape, sodomy and incest. Prosecutors say the teenage victim in that case is a female relative who became pregnant with his baby. Her allegations of sexual abuse led police to find the body in the freezer on July 28th.
