THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE COUNTIES SERVED BY THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN BIRMINGHAM.
.DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT.
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE TODAY ACROSS ALL OF CENTRAL
ALABAMA THROUGH 9 PM.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ON MONDAY. THE MAIN
THREATS WILL BE GUSTY WINDS OF UP TO 55 MPH…HAIL…AND NUMEROUS
CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES.
SUNDAY WILL ALSO MARK WHAT COULD BE THE BEGINNING OF A HEAT WAVE AS
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB INTO THE UPPER 90S. BY
TUESDAY…TEMPERATURES NEAR 100 DEGREES ARE EXPECTED AREA WIDE. NOT
MUCH RELIEF IS EXPECTED DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOUR AS TEMPERATURES ARE
ONLY EXPECT TO DROP IN THE MID 70S. THESE CONDITIONS PLUS AN
ABUNDANT AMOUNT OF MOISTURE WILL RESULT IN AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES
APPROACHING 110 DEGREES.
