To the editor:

The School of Discovery Genesis Center will blast off the 2008 – 2009 academic year on Wednesday, August 6, 2008. The school wide goals for this year are for pupils to score above the annual measurable objectives in percentage of proficient students on both the reading (81%) and mathematics (56%) components of the Alabama Reading and Mathematics Test (ARMT), and for students to score above the fiftieth percentile on the Stanford Achievement Test 10 (SAT-10).

Many of school’s education professors have attended summer college graduate classes and workshops/conferences to obtain professional development and for personal growth. When teachers’ knowledge expands, their students reap handsome profits.
