One person died late Sunday night in a one-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 80 East when a minivan carrying five passengers lost control.
The wreck occurred about five miles east of the Tyler Volunteer Fire Department.
The other four people in the van suffered injuries and were transported to Montgomery.
The vehicle flipped and remained upside down on the side of the road.
Officers dealt with a major challenge in the investigation.
The victims only spoke Spanish. This stalled the transfer of vital information like the cause of the wreck and names of the passengers.
It was still not known as of press time if the person who died was a driver or passenger.
A person was on hand at the hospital to translate for officers and give information on the accident, Jarrett said.
The investigation continued at the hospital, but was a slow process.
Officers are expected to release more details today.
