Screenco used a seven-run fourth inning to beat Kiwanis 12-2 Friday at the Sportsplex in 13-14 slowpitch softball play.
Kiwanis scored its only two runs of the game in the top of the first inning. Amber Brown led off with a single and scored on T’keyah Anderson’s RBI triple. A ground ball from Sharmynne Anderson resulted in a fielder’s choice play that allowed the run to score, gaining the early 2-0 edge.
Screenco battled back to tie the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the second inning. Brianna Richardson singled and scored on Khadijdra Fail’s RBI double. Jena Moppins then singled to score Fail.
In the bottom of the third inning, Eureka Ellis and Shakiya Reese both singled for Screenco. With runners at first and second, Keondra Logan’s base hit allowed Ellis to score. Reese and Logan both scored on Jasmine Peoples’ two-RBI single.
Leading 5-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Screenco loaded the bases on three singles from Richardson, Fail, and Moppins.
Zannesha Booker’s single scored both Richardson and Fail. Following an Ellis single, Moppins scored on Lisa Johnson’s sacrifice fly.
Booker and Ellis then scored on Reese’s two-RBI single. Logan then singled, and she and Reese both scored on the play due to Kiwanis throwing errors.
Ellis was the winning pitcher for Screenco, and Lexus Neely took the loss for Kiwanis.
