Rountree Electric scored at least six runs in each of three innings to beat Greg Tillman State Farm 19-3 Thursday in 5-6 Dixie Youth League baseball action at the Sportsplex.

Cade Whitaker led off the game with a single for Rountree Electric and scored on Tevin Craig’s home run. Johnny Furlow followed with a home run of his own.

Gunnar Henderson kept the rally going by hitting a single. Patrick Callens then singled to score Henderson. Porter Edwards singled and scored on Cade Egbert’s two-RBI single that also allowed Callens to score, giving their team the 6-0 advantage.

Led by Henderson at pitcher, Rountree Electric had a strong defensive performance, but Greg Tillman State Farm was able to cross the plate three times, scoring one run in the bottom of the first.

Michael Harris singled and scored on Antonio Davis’ RBI single.

Whitaker and Craig led off the top of the second inning for Rountree Electric with back-to-back singles, and both scored on Furlow’s triple. Henderson then hit a triple that scored Furlow. Callens singled in Henderson and scored on Edwards’ homerun, pushing the lead to 12-1.

Greg Tillman State Farm scored its other two runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Kashif Norwood and Terrance Thomas each singled. Norwood scored on Joshua Gourdine’s RBI groundout, and Thomas scored on Tavian Carlisle’s single.

In the top of the third inning for Rountree Electric, Whitaker, Craig, Furlow, Henderson, Callens, and Edwards all had hits and scored their third runs of the game. Henderson’s hit was a home run.

Egbert singled and scored his first run, making the final 19-3. Holt Utsey also had his second base hit of the game in the inning.
