Dean S. Wilson, Sr.

Dean S. Wilson, Sr., age 79, of Selma passed away at his home on June 3, 2008.

Funeral services will be held at Elkdale Baptist Church at

11:00 a.m. on June 6 with Pastor Daniel Martin officiating and Lawrence Brown Service-Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Family visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at Elkdale Baptist Church.

Dean was the founder and owner of Selma Printing Company of Selma. A benevolent man, he was always willing to help his family and fellow man.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn West Wilson, his father, Thomas Gross Wilson, Sr., his mother, Minnie Walker Wilson, his brothers, Thomas Gross Wilson, Jr. and infant, Willis Wilson, and sister, Martha Jane Barber.

He is survived by his children, Dean S. “Butch” (Ginger) Wilson, Jr. of Browns, AL, Larry (Elaina) Wilson of Orlando, FL, Gordon (Misty) Wilson of Alexander City, AL, Linda (Jesse) Hendricks of Daphne, AL, Jenny (Brad) Banks of Fairhope, AL, and Matt (Shelly) Wilson of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Dea (Willard) Powe and Travis (Keisha) Wilson of Browns, AL, Brandie Hendricks and Jason (Jessica) Hendricks of Daphne, AL, Misty (Ron) Taylor of Selma, AL, Leslie (Robert) Miller of Johnson City, TN, Lee Wilson of Orlando, FL, Logan, Mary Peyton, and Madelyn Banks of Fairhope, AL, Will, Matthew, and Nathan Wilson, of Alexander City, AL, Harper and Dylan Wilson of Charlotte, NC; 11 great-grandchildren, and special family and friends, Dennis Walker, James Walker, Tommy Wilson, Jesse and Mildred Englett, Aubrey Rush, Fred and Patricia Thomas, and numerous other family members.

Pallbearers will be Travis Wilson, Willard Powe, Jason Hendricks, Lee Wilson, Ron Taylor, Robert Miller, Logan Banks, and Trey Powe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Boozer, Jesse Englett, Melvin Gilley, Tommy Wilson, members and spouses of the Orrville Public School Class of 1947 and all former teachers of Orrville Public School.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Todd Sherrer and staff, the doctors and staff at Selma Medical Associates, Cahaba Hospice, Mildred Calhoun, Lynn Alexander, Carolyn Shaw, Mary Weeden, and Barbara Ash.

Della Mae Nichols

Della Mae Nichols, age 88 of Selma died Tuesday June 3, 2008 at a local nursing home.

She was preceded in death by her husband Evett Nichols, brother Everette “Buddy” Nichols and mother Idelle Nichols.

Survivors include; her son, Wayne “Nick” (Louise) Nichols of Marion Junction, grandsons, Kenneth W. (Terry) Nichols of Bon Secour, AL, Robert E. (Becky) Nichols, of Magnolia Springs, AL, Thomas E. Nichols of Selma, Curtis A. (Susie) Nichols of Eclectic, AL, great grandchildren, David (Brina) Nichols of Selma, Jason (Brigette) Nichols of Selma, Amanda (Erin) Manahan of Panama City Beach, FL, Cierra Nichols, of Thomastown, AL, Mallorie Nichols of Magnolia Springs, AL, Collin Nichols of Madison, AL, Thomas Nichols of Selma, Chandler Nichols of Magnolia Springs, AL, great great grandchildren, Briona Nichols, Kaitlyn Nichols, Alexis Nichols, Megan Nichols, Cole Nichols, all of Selma, brother Bergon Nichols of Bessemer, AL, sister, Loree Hood of Medina, OH.

Services will be held Thursday June 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Reverend Rod Rochester officiating and burial following at Ephesus Cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM on Wednesday June 4, 2008.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Nichols, Robert Nichols, Thomas Nichols, Curtis Nichols, David Nichols and Jason Nichols.

Mrs. Eula Green-Leycock, age 70

of Jefferson, Alabama passed May 23, 2008 in New York.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Small Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, Jefferson, Alabama. Interment Scott Memorial Cemetery, Jefferson, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama directing.
