Bertha Lee Davis

Bertha Lee Davis, 64, of Sardis, Alabama died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at her home.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at New Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church officiated by Edward Campbell.

Burial will follow in New Mt. Lebanon Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include spouse Dan Davis; three sons, Dan (Karen), Jeffrey (Terika), and Michael; three daughters, Annette, Brenda, and Inell; four brothers, Ezekial, Morris, Tommie, and Lloyd Chandler; two sisters, Inell Barnes and Lucy Henderson; nine grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law.

Clyde K. Sanders

Clyde K. Sanders, age 71 of Selma, died Thursday May 22, 2008. Services will be held Saturday May 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.at Pineview Memory Gardens with Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday May 23, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Dean Posey Sanders, daughters, Brenda G. Ward, Kathy Blanton, Susie Nuberry, sons, Clyde L.

Sanders Robert E. Sanders, Philip M. Sanders, David W. Sanders, sisters, Perlie M. Revell, Dorothy J. Kelly, Peggy A. Porter, Viola Henderson, brothers, James M.

Sanders, Mackey Sanders, stepchildren, Wayne Nichols, Lawrence Nichols, Fraince Johnston, Kathy Cochran, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

Essie Bradley Williams

Essie Bradley Williams, 96, of Marion Junction died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Home.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, at 1st Baptist Church in Uniontown with the Rev. A. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in New Mount Church Cemetery under the direction of Glen White.Visitation is 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 23 at White Funeral Home.

Hattie Elizabeth King

Hattie Elizabeth King, 81, a resident of Selma passed May 20, 2008 at a local hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sat.

May 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. from West Trinity Bapt. Church with Pastor A.A.

Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Summerfield Community Cemetery with J. H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.

She was born in Summerfield, AL on March 29, 1927 to the late Sallie and Smith King, Sr.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Summerfield before moving to Selma where she later joined West Trinity Baptist Church.

There she served faithfully until the end. While a member of West Trinity Baptist she served on the Usher Board, the Matron&8217;s Circle, and was president of the Decoration Committee. In addition to her faithful service to her church, she worked for over 30 years as a floral designer at Fred&8217;s Flower & Gift Shop.

Survivors include 3 sons, Kenneth (Jill), Samuel & Reginald King; two devoted friends Stephen & Mary Ghee;

Two granddaughters Kimberly & Kenaya Cunningham; two nieces, Toni (James)

Johnson, Sally (Muckles) Greg; four nephews, Frank (Teresa) King, Clarence (Joann) King, James (Christine) King and Mark King; one sister-in-law Susie M. King; one aunt Earnestine (Frank) M. King and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by both parents, a brother Smith King, Jr., sister Hanah King and aunts Sadie Ware and Mattie Manuel.

Richardson

Mr. Anthony D. Richardson, 34, of Selma, AL died May 19, 2008 at his home. Services are scheduled for Sat. May 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Darryl Moore.

Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include parents Andrew Richardson (Gloria); four brothers, Bobby Richardson, Andrew (Linda) Richardson, Jr., Donald (Cassie)

Richardson, and Clyde (Linda) Richardson; three sisters, Loretta Richardson, Dorothy (Howard) Jones, Debra (Wayne) Able-Holly; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include family and friends.

Keith Anthony Rogers

Keith Anthony Rogers, 47, of Montgomery, Alabama died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Capitol Hill Rehabilitation.Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 1:00pm at Miller Funeral Home officiated by Ben Tarver, Sr. Burial will follow in Manetta Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Samuel and Viola Rogers.

Survivors include spouse Anita Rogers; two daughters, Keyshia Rogers and Shemekia Wansley; four brothers, Jimmy Rogers, Mike Rogers, Samuel Rogers, and Leonard Rutledge; seven sisters, Joyce Tarver, Christine Rogers, Cliffadean Simmons, Paulette Clark, Lucy Hope, Debra Walker, Kaye Rogers; three brothers-in-law; nine sisters-in-law; sixteen nieces and fourteen nephews.

Pallbearers will include his cousins.

The family will receive friends Friday May 23, 2008 from 8:00pm-9:00pm.

Mr. Thomas N. Cater

Mr. Thomas N. Cater, 94, of Selma, Alabama died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Emory Adventist Hospital.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 12:00 noon at Tabernacle Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Rodney Morton.

Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include one son, Thomas II (Valerie) of Smyrna, GA; one daughter, Ona (Danny) of Lithia Springs, GA; two grandchildren, Courtney and Thomas III; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Myrtle Irene Abbott Chandler

Myrtle Irene Abbott Chandler, a longtime resident of Selma, AL passed May 20, 2008 in Montgomery, AL at the age of 91.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Israel Chandler.

Irene was born in Chilton County, AL on October 26, 1916.

She and her husband were long time members of Dallas Avenue Baptist Church in Selma, AL. She also had many great friends at the First Presbyterian Senior Citizens Center in Selma.

Surviving Mrs. Chandler are four daughters, Myrtle Ozell Chandler Miller of Montgomery, AL, Geraldine Chandler (Lamar) Bice of Villa Rica, GA, Shelby Jean Chandler (Radford) Talley of Villa Rica, GA and Linda Ann Chandler (Jimmy) Rush of Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren, Brenda Gwin of TN, Gina Hawkins of GA, Gregory Bice of GA, Jennifer Gastley of Kansas City, KS, Lisa Stephenson of GA, and Fredrika Morrissette Miller of Montgomery, AL and nine great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her faithful companion of ten years, her dog, Tippy.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral directing.

The family will greet friends on Sunday, may 25, 2008 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
