Johnson Paint and Body made short work of Yeargan Construction in its 12-2 four-inning victory Thursday in 7-8 Dixie Youth League baseball action at the Sportsplex.
While its defense was outstanding throughout the game, Johnson Paint and Body&8217;s offense proved to be too much for Yeargan Construction to overcome.
In the bottom of the first inning, Johnson Paint and Body sent nine to the plate, and the first seven had hits.
Anthony Strong, Marvin White, Keshun William, Justin Burton, and Jerome Houser each scored in the inning to give their team the early 5-0 lead.
Alex Perkins had a single in the top of the second for Yeargan Construction and later scored, cutting the lead to 5-1.
Tredarius Henderson&8217;s single and run in the bottom of the second stretched the lead back to 6-1.
Johnson Paint and Body used two three-run innings to close the deal.
Houser, Jalen Johnson, and Allen King scored in the bottom of the third.
Henderson, White, and William scored in the fourth inning before the mercy rule took effect.
Willie Fletcher scored Yeargan Construction&8217;s only other run in the game.
