Beatrice L. Chaney, 52, of Selma, AL passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at her home.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Mount Zion Primative Baptist Church with Elder Bryant Starks officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery

Marie E. Ward

Marie E. Ward, age 85, of Selma died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in a local hospital.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Eddie O.

Ward Jr., and daughters, Carolyn Prescott of Selma and Rita Sutherlin of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Survivors include her son, Eddie O.

Ward III (Lynn) of Selma, daughter, Donna K. Arnett of Phoenix City, Alabama, sons-in-law, Paul E.

Prescott Sr., and Dave Sutherlin, grandchildren, Vicky Johnson (Tommy), Deborah Dawson (Tommy), Paul Prescott Jr., Michael Arnett, Chris Arnett, and Andrea Sutherlin, five great grandchil-dren, and a sister, Mae Meister.

Graveside services will be held Friday May 23, 2008 at 10:30 A.M., at New Live Oak Cemetery with Reverend Rod Rochester officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.

Richard A. Holmes

Richard A. Holmes, 60, of Selma, Alabama passed away Wednesday May 21, 2008. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Richard E.

Holmes and his mother, Joyce Gaylor Holmes. Also by his brother-in law Tommy Posey.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Donna Jo Posey Holmes, two children, Misty Wlikinson (Allen) and Joey Holmes (Amber H.); two grandchildren, Allie and Martin Wilikinson; sister Brenda Hudson (Hayward); mother and father-in-law Donald and Joe Posey; brother-in-law Jimmy(Anita) Posey sister-in-law Joy Posey; nieces, and nephews, Eric(Amy)Desch Mitch (Reagan) Livingston, Neal, Shannon, Tara, Kelly, and Blair Posey.

Ricky served four years in the U.S.

Airforce, was president of the CWA Local 3910 and retired from Bellsouth after thirty-two years.

Graveside services will be held Friday May 23, 2008, at 11:00

A.M. at Pineview Cemetery with Reverend Joe Britton officiating and Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Thursday May 22, at the Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Pallbearers will be Joe Lightsly, Bill Harris, and Jerry Tolbert. Honarary Pallbearers will be Bellsouth em-ployees.

His father&8217;s flag will be used at the service.
