Audrey Andrell Jones

Audrey Andrell Jones, 21, of Selma, AL died May 11, 2008 at Vaughan Medical Center. Services are scheduled for May 17, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Chester Purifoy. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Services. Survivors include parents, Barbara and Willie Jones, Jr.; one daughter, Rodneisha Jeriah Jones; one brother, Johnny Ackron, Jr.; two sisters, Julia Ackron and Tamica Donaldson; three nieces and one nephew. Pallbearers include her cousins.

Mary Boykin Sharpe, 83, a resident of Selma, passed May 12, 2008 at a Meridian, MS hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for Sat. May 17, 2008 at Noon from Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with Rev. Ernest Colvin officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Memory Garden with J. H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state at Greater New Hope Baptist Church on Friday from 2 until 5 p.m. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the funeral home from 7 until 8 p.m.

His survivors include a loyal and faithful wife of 49 years and nine months, Mrs. Ernestine Huckabee Brown; a devoted sister, Mrs. Louise Brown Cook; a faithful brother-in-law Rev. Lorenzo Harrison Sr.; several special nephews including Minister (LTC) Alan Sconiers and family, Mr. Lorenzo Harrison Jr., Lodrae Scott, Minister Charles Brown, several special nieces including Mrs. Iris K. Harrison-Blackmon, Ms. Kimberly Jones, Mrs. Carolyn Aaron and family, several special cousins, including Mrs. Alberta Goins, Rev. & Mrs. Jerry (Naomi) Jerkins, Mr. & Mrs. John Dean, Mrs.

Juanita B. Williams, Mrs. Freddie Hatcher and family, James, Ronald, Virgil, Philamena, Vivian, and host of other relatives and friends.

Patsy Patterson

Patsy Patterson of Selma, Alabama passed Wed. May 7th at UAB

Hospital. Services are scheduled for Sat., May 17, 2008 at 1 p.m. at New Shiloh Baptist Church in Potters Station. Rev. Dan Moore is the pastor. Rev. Thomas J. Patterson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Thomas J. Patterson; two sons, Adrian K. Holloway of Montgomery and Thomas J. Patterson Jr. of Sacramento, CA; one grandson, Kristian Holloway of Montgomery; three sisters, Anna (David) Jones, Pauline (Roosevelt) Jones of Marion Junction, and Edith Holloway of Selma; one brother, Paul (Gladys) Holloway of Marion Junction; a brother-in-law, Henry (Sinda) Jones of Marion Junction; three aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Paralee Pettaway McDaniel, 80, a resident of Selma passed May 11, 2008 at the Lighthouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Funeral services are scheduled for Sat. May 17, 2008 at 1 p.m. from Everdale Baptist Church with Min. Lee Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Everdale Baptist Church Cemetery with J. H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing. Mrs. McDaniel worked as a nurse at the Good Samaritan Hospital for nearly 40 years before retiring. After retirement she continued to work part-time as a nurse for the Lighthouse Convalescent Center for almost 15 years.

She is survived by three daughters; Fannie (Jessie) Howard, Selma;

Anne (Glenn) Howard, Millbrook, AL; Loretta Alston, Alexandria, VA; three sons; Gregory (Annie Jean) Pettaway, Selma; Thomas (Evelyn) Murray, St. Louis, MO;

James Murray, Jr., Selma;

23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Essie McDaniel and Bernice Lee of Detroit, MI, plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
