Patsy Patterson

Patsy Patterson of Selma passed Wed., May 7th at UAB

Services are scheduled for 1pm at New Shiloh Baptist Church in Potters Station. Rev. Dan Moore is the pastor. Rev. Thomas J. Patterson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Thomas J. Patterson; two sons, Adrian K. Holloway of Montgom-ery and Thomas J. Patterson Jr. of Sacramento, CA; one grandson, Kristian Holloway of Montgomery; three sisters, Anna (David) Jones, Pauline (Roosevelt) Jones of Mar-ion Junction, and Edith Holloway of Selma; one brother, Paul (Gladys) Holloway of Marion Junction; a brother-in-law, Henry (Sinda) Jones of Marion Junction; three aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Joe W. Ford

Joe W. Ford, 63, a resident of Selma, passed away May 7, 2008 in Jefferson County.

Funeral Servies will be held at West Trinity Baptist Church, May 17, 2008. Pastor Rev. Maruice Harris and Rev. Larry Purifoy. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Service.

Sarah Elizabeth Hubbard

Sarah Elizabeth “Elease” Hubbard, age 98, of Selma died Tuesday May 13, 2008 at a local nursing home.

She was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church.

Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, May 17, 2008, 10 A.M. at New Live Oak Cemetery, officiated by Dr. William Gardner and directed by Lawrence Brown Service Funeral Home.

She was born January 8, 1910 in Burnsville, Alabama, to Charlie and Eliza Barnes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Hubbard.

Survivors include, a daughter, Clare Wade Nobels (Paul) of Clinton TWP, Michigan, son, Charles Hubbard (Elva) Sardis, granddaughter, Mary Charles Hubbard Giles, grandson, Paul Joseph Nobels ( Lois) of Rochester Hills, Michigan, several great-grandchildren, niece, Dorothy Friday Stoves, cousin, Elizabeth Tucker, several nephews, sister-in-law, Grace Hubbard.

Pallbearers will be J.V. Friday, Jimmy Friday, Wayne Friday, Mylette Cottingham, Bobby Eddy, and Nick Switzer.

Frances Montgomery Schultz

Frances Montgomery Schultz, age 96, died Tuesday May 13, 2008 in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be held Thursday May 15, 2008 at 11 A.M. in Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, AL directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schultz is survived by her daughter, Monty (Paul) James, grandchildren, Catherine (Davis) Henry, Bob Anderson, Ray Schultz, IV, Bill Schultz, and Sandra Moore, daughter-in-law, Barbara Schultz, and 9 great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Schultz, Jr. and her son, Ray Schultz, III.

The family requests flowers be omitted and suggests donations to one’s favorite charity.

C.D. Martin

C.D. Martin, 88, of Selma died May 10, 2008 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for 11AM, Thursday, May 2008 at Graveside Ceremony with the Rev. James E.

Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include brother, Fred Martin Sr.; nieces, Mabel Reddick;

Jeanette (Johny) Moss of Selma, AL; Rosalyn (Clarence) Hatcher, Valdosta, Ga; and Alice Lee West of Selma, AL; nephews, Thomas Akons III, Clarence Mitchell, Malachi Martin Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, and Roy Mitchell, Detroit, MI. And great nephews.

Venolia Armstead

Mrs. Venolia Armstead, age 84 of Forkland, Alabama passed May 10, 2008 in Eutaw, Alabama.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at Noon at the Old Green Oak Baptist Church, Forkland, Alabama.

Interment Old Green Oak Cemetery, Fork-land, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama directing.

Bertha Davis

Mrs. Bertha Davis, 64, of Sardis died May 14, 2008, at her home.

Final arrangements will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Service, Inc.
