There are a total of 261 seniors graduating, 110 from Dallas County, 49 from Keith, and 102 from Southside.

There will be more seniors participating in the ceremonies this year. A change in the system&8217;s graduation requirements allows students who meet the Carnegie unit and attendance requirements to graduate.

School officials could not confirm the exact number of students now walking down the aisle that were ineligible before the new rule.

Major-McKenzie said much effort goes into preparing for graduation.

Representatives from the board each year split up to attend different schools&8217; graduation ceremonies, and visit different schools each year.

Board member Roy Edwards stressed the importance of attending the graduation ceremonies.
