Johnny Moss III has announced his candidacy for the city council Ward 2 seat.

Moss, a Selma native, is running for public office for the first time.

Moss is the director of marketing and college relations at Wallace Community College Selma.

He has adopted a campaign slogan, &8220;One Selma&8230;One Future!&8221;

He also intends to initiate scheduled meetings with Ward 2 residents.

Moss, 35, is a 1990 graduate of Selma High School. He earned a bachelor&8217;s degree in Finance from Tuskegee University and a MBA from Troy State University Montgomery.

Moss is a member of Ellwood Community Church and is married to Sharonoa Saffold Moss.
