Shelby Moore (7-4) won the final game in the No. 3 position to a pair of players she had lost to during the regular season.

Caroline Sherrer (14-0) went to state as the top seed in the No. 5 position and won the final match in three sets.

Amy McGucken played at the No. 1 position and went to the state tournament with a 10-4 record. She won a first-round match and lost in the semifinals.

Rachael Sherrer (12-2) lost in the finals at the No. 2 position to the only player that had beaten her all year, Fort Dale’s Elizabeth Dunklin.

No. 4 player Laura Talton (8-2) lost three close sets in the finals.

Rachael Sherrer and Moore won the No. 2 doubles final match against Fort Dale.

McGucken and Jaime Pilcher won in the first round before losing in three sets to Lee-Scott Academy’s No. 1 doubles team.

“Because we graduate only two seniors (Jaime and Amy) and have many younger players taking lessons, Morgan should be competitive for many years,” Morgan coach Frances Henderson said.
