Sara Ann Preston
Sara Ann Preston, age 69, of Wetumpka died Friday April 18, 2008 in Wetumpka.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday April 22, 2008, in New Live Oak Cemetery officiated by Minister David McLemore and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.
She is survived by her son, Chris Preston of Prattville, granddaughters, Abbie and Judy Preston, nieces, Teri (Tim) Sanders of Millbrook, Debbie Green of Millbrook, nephew, Marty Green of Millbrook, and great nieces, Jenna and Katie Sanders of Millbrook.
Howard P. Rush
Howard P. Rush, age 77, a resident of
Titus, AL, passed April 17, 2008.
Funeral services will be held Sunday April 20, 2008, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Selma,
AL, officiated by Rev. Gary Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Howard Rush and Hazel Rush and his son John Michael Rush.
He is survived by Joyce Rush, son, Marty (Carla) Rush of Montgomery, AL, daughter, Lynne (Ricky) Landry of Wetumpka, grandchildren, Leslie, Brooke, Rejeana, Ashley, Tiffany, & Blake, great-grandchild, Maka-lyn, and sisters, Mary Ellen Wachenheim and Mattie Mae Shipp, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Amos Ward
Mr. Amos Ward, 69 of Faunsdale, AL, passed April 8, 2008, in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 12:00 noon at Hunter&8217;s Chapel Baptist Church, Faunsdale, AL.
Burial followed at the Interment First Baptist Cemetery, Faunsdale, AL, under the direction of Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors.
Ms. Loveile Parker
Ms. Loveile Parker, 73, of Jones, AL, died April 17, 2008 at Vaughan Regional Hospital.
Services will be announced at a later date by Miller Funeral Service, Inc.
Virginia Morgan Vick
Virginia Morgan Vick, age 83, of Linden, formerly of Selma died Friday, April 18, 2008, in a Birmingham hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home officiated by Rev Sonny Pritchett.
Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. Mrs. Vick is survived by her husband, George Willard Vick, children, Leola Frances (Johnnie Pery) Lunsford, Jimmie L. (Deborah) King, Billy Frank (Frances Ann) King, stepchildren, Bill (Sharon) Vick and Linda (Mark) Erwin, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Wayne King and one grandson Mike King.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jr. Odom, Brent King, John Lunsford, Wade Mott, John Mott, and John Clibrey.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.m. to 2:00 P.M. Monday before the funeral service.
Ann Bush Putzel
Ann Bush Putzel, age 81, of Selma died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 21, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ronald E. Stone officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
The burial will be private.
Mrs. Putzel is survived by her son; Charles Lewis Putzel IV, daughter; Margaret Putzel Osburn, nephew; Henry H. Bush Jr., nieces; Evelyn DeLaurel, Shelia Brantley, and Betsy McClure, sisters-in-law; Mary Goldman and Rosamond Putzel.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 20, 2008, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or one&8217;s favorite charity.
Walter Smith Jr.
Walter Smith Jr., 92, of Faunsdale, Ala., passed away Thursday, April, 17, 2008, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital, Demopolis, Ala.
He was born June 23, 1915, in Sweetwater, Ala.
Visitation will be at O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville
from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2008 with the Rev. Robert Walker and the Rev. Grey Snodgrass officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery, Sweetwater, Ala.
Survivors are his wife, Reba Smith, of Faunsdale; sons, Jimmie (Betty) Smith of Uniontown, Ronald (Jo Ann) Smith of Thomaston, and Bruce (Loraine) Smith of Coy; daughters, Margaret (Joe) Pike of Faunsdale, and Barbara (Robert) Walker of Selma; sisters-in-law, Sybile Smith of Linden, Olivia Cooper of Birmingham, and Bobbie Jordan of Sweetwater; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Michael Smith, Milton Smith, Heath Smith, Jim Smith, Glen Smith, David Tanner, David Daily and Johnny Sanders.

Mr. Arthur E. Blake Jr., 63, of Selma, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at Baptist South Medical Center, Montgomery.
