Bernice Steen, 68 resident of Selma, AL died on Sunday April 13,2008 at Jefferson County Hospital.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Cedric Raynard Williams

Mr. Cedric Raynard Williams, 28, of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Selma, died Saturday April 5, 2008 in Fort Wayne.

Services are scheduled for 1 pm, Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Sandrige Baptist Church with the Rev. Marzette officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sandridge cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include his wife Su-Wanna Williams; parents, Calvin Givan,

Lizzie (Minister Willie) Fleming ; one son, Taylor Williams, and one step-son, Tarrance; two step-daughters, Kelondria and Peyton; two brothers, Kelvin D. Williams, Simeon J. Williams; one sister, Wanda Williams and mother-in-law, Dorothy Weaver; seven brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

The wake will be held at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at Miller Funeral Service Chapel, Selma,

AL.

Mr. Irvin Gilbert

Mr. Irvin Gilbert, age 76 of Demopolis, Alabama passed recently in Worcester, MA.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Chapel Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama.

Marijane Taccone Duke

Marijane Taccone Duke, age 90, born July 23, 1917 in Selma, Alabama, passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at her residence in Destin, Florida.

Marijane was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach and was active in church as well as the Officer&8217;s Christian Fellowship and Gideons International until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Richard Duke (USAF Ret.), sister and brother in law, Mildred and Mack Duke, a brother, David Taccone, and nephews, Richard W. Duke and Randy Adams.

Survivors include her sister, Jean Taccone Huff (Willard) of Selma; sisters-in-law, Melwyn Taccone and Elizabeth Adams, both of Selma; nieces and nephews, Peggy Duke Williamson, Patricia Duke, Diane Huff Pitts, David Huff, Donna Taccone Hollis, David Taccone, Lisa Taccone Harding, Earl Adams, Bruce Adams, Angie Adams Perry and Jeff Adams.

The family extends special thanks and appreciation to her loving caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care and to the staff of Covenant Hospice.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008, at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla., with Dr. Howard Gates, pastor of First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Officer&8217;s Christian Fellowship, Gideons International or to the First Baptist Church of FWB, in Marijane&8217;s memory.

Arrangements are entrusted to McLaughlin Mortuary, Fort Walton Beach.

Annyce Hendricks Manch

Manch, Annyce Hendricks, 88, died on April 5, 2008, in Fort Lauderdale, FL while spending part of the winter with her daughters.

A resident of Fredericksburg, VA, and prior resident of Fairhope, AL, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Martin G. Manch.

She is the cherished mother of Maryann Irion and Jacqueline L.

Manch of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Martin G. Manch IV (Susan) of Fredericksburg,VA; and William R. &8220;Bill&8221; Manch (Susan) of McLean, VA.

She is the loving sister of Eunice Boozer (Melvin) of Selma, AL, and sister-in-law of Rosemary Doucette of Melbourne, FL.

She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Jennifer Conley (Dustin), Katy, Megan, Rob, and Pat Manch, and great- grandson Kian Conley, all from Virginia, and nieces and nephews Jim Foley, Gena Arnold and Joy Coker of Panama City, FL, and Melanie Henry, Richard and Donnie Boozer of Selma,

AL, and Dauria D&8217;Orsi who resides in Germany.

We all will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 12, 2008, 11a.m. to 1p.m. at Law-rence Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Citizens Parkway, Selma, AL 36702-0554.

At 2:30 p.m., funeral services will be held in the Law-rence Brown Chapel.

Sylvia Ann Cook

Sylvia Ann Cook, age 71, a resident of Selma, AL, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Warren Manor Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents,

A. J. and Arbelle Early; her sisters, Jean Jeffrey, Betty Jo Weinbaun and brother, Jim Doyle Early.

Surviving are her devoted husband of 51 years, Awford Cook; son, Clay Cook and wife Sara; daughter, Greta and husband, Mark Jones; brother, Kenneth Early and wife Melba; much adored grandchildren, Holly Jones and Jackson Jones and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday,

April 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Fancher and Douglas Coates officiating and special family member, Jack Burkett, will also speak. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 6-8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Tim Wooten, Steve Reid, Mike Early, Paul Sturdivant, Bobby Roseberry and Tim White.

The family would like to offer special thanks for those caring for Sylvia over the last few years in such a special way:
