Mr. Eugene Winston

Mr. Eugene Winston, age 82 of Demopolis, Alabama passed April 3, 2008 in

Birmingham, Alabama.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Demopolis, Alabama. Interment Scott Memorial Cemetery, Jefferson, Alabama. Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors directing in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James W. Foster

Mr. James W. Foster, Jr., 77, died Friday, March 14, 2008. Mr. Foster was born September 16, 1930 in Selma, Alabama to James Foster and Marie Priscilla Foster.

Mr. Foster leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter, Teresa Foster; sister, rose Marie Davis of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother, James (Belle) Foster of Selma, Alabama; three grandsons, Jermaine Foster, Christopher Foster, Sr. and Donell Foster, Sr.; four great-grandchildren, Donell Foster, Jr.,

Christopher Foster, Jr., Isaiah Foster, and Elijah Foster, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; Two nieces, Mattie Thornton of Buffalo, New York and Monique (Nicky) Vos of Salt Lake, Utah; two nephews, Troy Davis and Gregory Manuel, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; cousins, Sharon Jackson, Jawana Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia, Ernestine Greene of Phoenix, Arizona and Thedrika Sawyers of Oakland, California; Mamie Mitchell, Compton, California; a host of other relatives and friends.

Homer P. Hansell III

Homer P. Hansell III, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, VA. Homer was born Dec. 7, 1952 to Lt. Col. Homer and Ann Hansell who preceded him in death.

He was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church while growing up in Selma. He graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Masters in Education.

He taught at Pritchard High School for many years. He also taught college courses at Tutwiler Prison for Women and The University of Virginia.He is survived by two brothers, Paul (Mary) Hansell and Mike (Sarah) Hansell; a nephew Paul (Jodi) Hansell and three nieces Meg (Jason) King, Marquerite and Becca Hansell. Several great nephews and nieces, and an aunt and uncle in Oklahoma. There will be a memorial service in Charlottesville, VA and one will be scheduled in Selma at a later date.

Cunningham

Charlotte Carlton Cunningham, age 72, of Birmingham, formerly of Selma died Friday April 3, 2008, at a nursing home in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Cunningham.

Survivors include her daughters, Eleanor Gantt of Birmingham, Alabama, Adelle (Robert) Johnston of Palmer, Alaska, a son, Doug Cunningham of Selma, Alabama, grandchildren, Robert Jr. Carter, Benson, Sarah-Drew, Ann, Eleanor, and Peyton.

Mrs. Cunningham was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be Tuesday April 8, 2008 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ronald Stone officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery in Pine Hill, AL.
