Mary Nelson Jackson

Jackson, &8220;Nelsi&8221; Mary Nelson, age 57, peacefully left this world surrounded by family on Saturday, March 29, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born July 4, 1950, in Selma, AL, to James and Florence Rogers.

A resident of Millbrook, AL, and formerly of Troy, AL, she graduated high school in Selma, AL, and college from Troy University with a degree in teaching.

She enriched the lives of

young people over a teaching and child care career in the Troy city school system, home day care and concluding at Covenant Christian Academy in Troy before moving to Millbrook, AL, in 2000.

She was an amazing woman, full of strength, hope and determination.

She had the sweetest of depositions, the kindest spirit and a smile that brightened all around her.

She was an angel among us. Nelsie is preceded in death by her father, James C. Rogers, Sr. and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 37 years, John S. Jackson.

She is also survived by her mother, Florence Rogers of Millbrook, AL, her brother, James C. (Joy) Rogers, Jr., of Sarasota, FL, her son, Judd S. (Penny) Jackson of Destin, FL, her daughter Jennifer A. (Jeff) Kamykowski of Millbrook, AL and four grandchildren, Spencer and Parker Jackson and Bailey and Emily Kamykowski, whom she adored and cherished every minute of her time she spent with them.

Visitation celebrating Nelsie&8217;s life will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Prattville Memorial Chapel.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Prattville Memory Gardens Cemetery on Wednesday,

April 2, 2008.

David Morrison and Diane Wills, RN.

Also, to the nurses at Cancer Care Centers of Prattville and Montgomery who went above and beyond with their care, comfort and extraordinary compassion, we extend our gratitude.

Mary Walker

Mary Walker, of Selma, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for 12 noon, Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Selma West Village Church of The Nazarene, located at 203 Hobson Street with the Dr. Brenda J. Tyus, Pastor; Elder James Tyus, Sr., Evangelist; and Minister Oscar L. Walker of Norfolk, Virginia officiating under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Special thanks to the Physicians and ICU Nursing Staff for the tender, loving care provided to our loved one during her illness.

Rose Louise Schachner Dundon

Mrs. Dundon, 91 of Charlotte, NC.

died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Little Flower Assisted Living Center.

Born April 21, 1910 in Charlotte,

Rose was the daughter of the late Julius Anthony Schachner, Sr and Elizabeth McKane Schachner.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Dundon was preceded in death by her husband Warren A. Dundon of Selma survivors include her stepchildren all from Alabama and several nieces and nephews in the Carolinas.

A prayer service will take place on Wednesday,

April 2nd at 1:45

p.m. in the Chapel of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Rd, Charlotte with a Mass of Christian Burial will to follow at

2:00

p.m.

The family will receive friends immediately following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Holy Angels,

Beverly Corr Puryear

Beverly Corr Puryear, age 93, of Birmingham, died on Thursday, March 27, 2008.

Born in Marion,

AL on June 10, 1914, to Mark and Julia Corr, she was raised in Selma, AL, and attended Judson College.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a caring friend.

She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Puryear was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Puryear, Jr.; and her brother, C. Dozier Corr.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly P. Bright (Henry) and Lynne P. Kent (Warren); three brothers, Mark S. Corr, Jr., James V. Corr, and Robert H.

Corr; and two sisters, Nancy C.

Martin and Alice C. Rogers.

She was blessed by six grandchildren, Julia Kent, H. Clay Bright III, Melinda K. Parsons, Dr. R. Andrew Bright, Nancy K. Squires, and Beverly B. &8220;Bea&8221; Evans; twelve great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation was held Monday, March 31st in the Chapel of Mountain Brook Baptist Church at 10:00, with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Dr.

James D. Moebes will officiate. A private family graveside service

followed.

Pallbearers will be Clay Bright III, Andrew Bright, Lance Evans, Earl Parson III, James Squires, and Brian Wilson.

Memorials may be made to Mountain Brook Baptist Church, 3631 Montevallo Rd. 35213, or to a favorite charity.

Jimmy Bell

Jimmy Bell , 82, of Selma, died on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at his home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
