Marilyn Davis Spence

The committal service for Marilyn Davis Spence will be April 2, 2008 at 3:00PM at the old Fort Myer Post Chapel with interment

Marilyn Maurine Davis Spence was born in Harlingen, Texas September 4, 1931 to William Ellis Davis and Maurine Delite (Wallace) Davis and died Monday, February 25, 2008 in Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Marilyn was the wife of Major General Clyde W. Spence, Jr., U.S. Army, retired.

She enjoyed 32 years in the Army moving around the world with Clyde and rearing their three children.

After General Spence retired from the Army, he became president of Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama, and Marilyn embarked on a new career of entertaining cadets, their parents and many Alabama politicians.

She also became heavily in-volved with numerous Hereditary Societies holding offices at the national, state, and local levels.

Marilyn and Clyde have three children and three grandchildren living in different parts of the United States. They are Kevin and Suzy Collins Spence of Hampton, Virginia, Craig and Heather Spence Kennedy of Silver Spring , Md., and Donald and Holly Spence Greene of Ormond Beach, Florida, and the prized

grandchildren

who are Georgia and Shannon Spence and Scotty Greene.

She is also survived by a brother, Wallace Williamson Davis.

Marilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Enid and the Sooner Sunday School class.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Cherokee Strip Heritage Museum, First United Methodist Church, or the American Heart Association.

Stephen Randall Adams

Stephen Randall &8220;Randy&8221; Adams, age 55, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008 in a Birmingham hospital.

Randy was a member of Elkdale Baptist Church.

His father, Grady E. Adams, precedes Randy in death.

His daughter, Georgia Michelle Adams, survives him; mother, Mrs. Grady E. Adams; brothers, Aubrey Earl (Rosie) Adams, William Bruce (Ann) Adams, Jeffry Ray (Christy) Adams; sister, Angie (John) Perry and grandson, Daylon Edmunds.

Visitation was Sunday, March 30, 2008, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, March 31, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Micah Gandy officiating. Interment will follow in New Live Oak cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Earl Adams, Jeff Adams, John Perry, Chad Adams, Britt Adams and Rickey McDowell. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of BE&K Construction Company.
