Boynton is a candidate for the Ward 1 seat on the Selma City Council.
She is a Selma native, and this is her first time running for public office.
Boynton is the general manager of the Selma Mall. Boynton is a community volunteer and has served the area in many capacities: Chamber of Commerce executive board for three years, local United Way board chairperson for two years, Edmundite Missions public relations for three years, and is the chairperson for the Selma-Dallas County Renaissance Commission.
Her vision is to help shed more light and to capitalize on Selma&8217;s potential by improving residential and small business communities and education. She believes this can be accomplished through restoring integrity to city government; allowing residents to define their quality of life concerns, then working to address and improve in those areas; and by providing local support to small businesses and helping them to increase their markets.
Boynton, 34, is a 1992 graduate of Selma High School. She has a bachelor&8217;s in communication from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and a master&8217;s in management from Faulkner University, Montgomery.
She is unmarried and does not have any children.
