Dallas County commissioners today will likely discuss a settlement with a woman who claims a county truck tossed gravel that broke her windshield.

Shirley Rudolph&8217;s claim is one of several items on the agenda for the commissioners&8217; meeting at 4 p.m. today in the courtroom at the Dallas County Courthouse Annex.

Rudolph of 1905 Hazel Street, Selma, said she was traveling on Ala. Hwy. 14 when a county truck passed her by and slung gravel that damaged her left front bumper and windshield. Rudolph had reported damages of $1,367.73 to John Kelly III, the county&8217;s attorney.

George E. Jones Jr., the county engineer, said the facts were stated correctly, but he was uncertain how the rocks could have come from the dump truck because its bed was covered with a tarpaulin. &8220;I don&8217;t know where it came from, unless he knocked it up off the road,&8221; Jones told commissioners recently.

Commissioners had agreed recently to ask Rudolph to get two estimates and hold any settlement in abeyance until then.
