Fulton Edwards, Jr.

Fulton Edwards, Jr., 62, of Selma, AL died March 4, 2008 at a local hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Elbethel Baptist Church, 219 Persimmon Tree Rd at Highway 14.

Burial will be at the Lincoln Interment Cemetery and directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Fulton was better known as &8220;Jr&8221;.

He attended Selma University.

After working clerical jobs, he decided to join his father and brother to enhance and expand the family&8217;s masonry business.

Fulton was very competitive in everything that he did.

He excelled in all areas that were of interest.

His

unique talents and gifts were recognized for masonry throughout Dallas County.

He was deeply admired and respected for his quiet and calm demeanor.

Fulton had a gentle way to handle any issues or problems.

Fulton leaves a legacy of strength, endurance, patience and humility.

Truly we are left with a void.

He leaves to cherish two brothers, Eugene Edwards and Maurice Edwards (Alice) of Selma, AL; two sisters, Rosemary Watts (Herman) of Selma, AL, Rhonda Hays (Carl) of Dallas, TX, three aunts, Bettye McNeil (John) of Arlington, TX, Elizabeth Bettis and Roxie Bettis of Selma, AL; one uncle, Burnell Bettis of Selma, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Ann S. Richards

Ann S. Richards, 82, of Selma died Friday March 7, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 10, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens officiated by Doug Coats and directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mrs. Richards is survived by her sons, Roger Richards and Randall Richards and her daughter, Sharan Dutton, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Tanner and her sons and grandsons.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday March 9, 2008.

John Rowell

John Harvey Rowell, Sr.; aged 66, died suddenly at his home Friday, March 7, 2008.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Elizabeth McCormick Rowell, his mother, Mrs. Robert (Nadine Fowler) Rowell formerly of Selma, currently of Gainesville, Ga.; his brother, Robert Rowell, Jr. (Doris) of Birmingham; his sister Nadia Rowell (Bill) Speed of Gainesville, Ga.; his brother in law, John Macon McCormick, of Gulf Shores and his children; John Harvey Rowell, Jr. (Lin) of Greenville, S.C., grandchildren, Maridith, Elizabeth, Trint III, and JoAnna.; Julie Rowell (Godfrey) Lyons, of Selma. Libby Rowell (Glenn) Bradford, of Scyrene, Ala., grandchildren, Mary Katherine, Margeret and Marlee; and Jennifer Rowell (Shean) Venable, of Macon, Ga., grandchild Kenley.

There will be a prayer vigil and visitation, Monday night from 7 to 9 p.m., at Christ the King, CEC Church, on Highland Ave., Selma. Funeral services will be held at the church Tuesday, March 11, at 2 p.m., followed by a brief graveside service at New Live Oak Cemetery

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Perry County Nursing Home.
