The Little Lamb Sale, which began one decade in Selma, returns next week to the Old Armory on West Dallas Avenue.
The sale will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., March 14 and from 8 to 10:30 a.m., March 15. Sellers will be able to shop at a preview sale the night of March 13, before the sale is open to the general public, as a thank-you for their work, said Eleanor Nichols, who has helped with the sale for many years.
Sellers retain 75 percent of the proceeds from the sale, and 25percent goes to local charities.
The items for sale include toys, books, strollers, baby beds &8212; anything a child could use, Nichols said.
Individuals can bring in children&8217;s items to sell. There is a $5 registration fee, which goes to cover the cost of renting the Old Armory.
After the sale, the organizers meet to discuss needs in the community, to decide where funds are most needed. More than $40,000 has been raised since the sale&8217;s inception, and the money has been donated to the Selma-Dallas County Public Library,
Selma Sav-a-Life,
individual families,
and other organizations.
