Mr. Jerry Carter

Mr. Jerry Carter, 36, of Valley Grande, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Ellwood Community Church, officiated by the Rev. Gary L. Crum.

Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Inc.

Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his father, Timothy Harrell Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Tyna Carter; two sons, Nicolas I. Carter and LaJerrious Carter; mother, Ruth Ann Carter; four brothers, Curtis Carter, Mathew James Carter, Authur Lee (Catherine) Carter, Jeff (Lakesha) Carter; two sisters, Carrie (William) Brown, and Shirley Carter.

Pallbearers will be Randy Harrison, Ollie James, Charles Maxwell Sr., Tommy Moore, Edwin Wilson and Eddie Sharpe.

Nellie Ruth Jones

Nellie Ruth Jones, age 85, a resident of Selma, AL, passed away February 22, 2008.

Surviving are her sons Fred Jones and L.B. (Cherry) Jones Jr.; sisters, Mae Shephard and Jo Ann Stone; grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Tiffany (Jerry) Maxwell, Jeff Jones, Tammy Sellers, Matt Jones, Billy Jones and Ashley Jones; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Jones Sr.; father, Spencer Bracknell; mother, Bessie Bracknell; brothers, Vonzelle Bracknell, James Bracknell, George Bracknell, Thomas Bracknell and Arthur Bracknell.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Ed Eaton officiating. Lawrence Funeral Home will be directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, February 25, 2008 from 6-8 p.m.

Respectful Pallbearers are Jeff Jones, Russell Small, Charlie Worrell, Junior Stone, Roger Bracknell and Sonny Latham.

Her life was dedicated to God and her children.
