MARION – Add Francis Marion to a long list of teams in the area that will dance at the Central Regional tournament in Montgomery this week.

The Rams got 19 points from Kenneth Tabb and a double-double from Cameron Essex in a 56-51 win over Central-Hayneville in the 3A sub-regionals Friday night.

“Overall, I think we did a real good job,” Marion coach Woddie Jackson said.

Bryant Smith led the Lions in scoring with 12 points, and Tommy McGray scored 10.

Essex scored 17 points for Marion and also hauled in 11 rebounds. Ken Arrington added 10 points.

The Rams will play Aliceville at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Alabama State.
