Trees are reported down in two counties as a band of severe thunderstorms
rolls through the state.
Trees were reported down in Dallas and Tallapoosa County,
according to emergency management officials in the two counties.
Joe Paul Boone, EMA director for Tallapoosa County, said trees were down, but no damage had been reported yet. “We’ve got reports of low visibility and high winds,” Boone said. “Right now, we’re just watching things come.”
The Dallas County EMA is working to confirm reports of trees down and assess damage.
Calls to the Wilcox County and Perry County Emergency Management
agencies were unreturned as of 2 p.m. Sunday.
