Staff Report
The investigation continues into the theft of a mail bag from a U.S. Postal Service delivery truck in George Washington Carver Homes.
No arrests have been made, but authorities are following up on leads as to the identities of the two individuals seen running from the area.
The truck was parked on St. Ann Street as a mail carrier delivered mail when two men broke a window, got
into the truck, took a bag of mail and ran away, dropping mail along the way, Robinson said.
Stealing mail is a federal offense.
A reward of $10,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest of the people involved.
Residents have received flyers asking for information to help authorities.
Joseph L. Breckenridge, a spokesman for the Postal Service, said the suspects took an estimated 500 pieces of mail that was headed to about 240 households.
