The word for the day at Southside Primary on Monday may be a big one.
Philanthropy.
Recess will take on a new meaning for the 340 students in grades K-2. When the students take to the playground they’ll have some new equipment to play on, thanks to one of their teachers, Killian Albritton.
A group of parents, teachers and volunteers showed up at 7 a.m. Saturday to help install the new slide, a merry-go-round, park benches and a seesaw.
Helen Olds said she couldn’t have missed Saturday. Her first-grader, Wyzeldric Rudolph, woke her early reminding her she needed to get over to the school.
