When it snows in the South, people get excited. They also get to shopping to prepare for the worst of weather that is uncommon for the region.
While people bought some of the more typical items for severe weather, some items people purchased were surprising.
About 4 inches of snow fell Saturday, sparking the shopping. No additional snow is expected today.
Barnett also said people didn&8217;t buy as much of the typical items like bottled water and batteries.
Jimmie Coleman, store director for Calhoun Foods, said he&8217;s seen a lot of new faces and the seasoned shoppers &8212; the grandmas and the aunts &8212; come out in the weather.
