Ms. Joyce M. Johnson, 67, of Selma died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008.

Funeral services are scheduled for noon today at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints with Elder Campbell officiating. Burial is in Pineview under the direction of Miller Funeral Service.

Survivors include three sons, Barrio (Angelia), Donnie and Demetrius; a daughter, Latanga (Rufus) Ford; a sister, Ruby Carter; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dr. J.J. Holland, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma.

Mr. Edward Thurman

Mr. Edward Thurman, 75, of Selma, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center, Selma.

Services will be noon, Sunday, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Charles Burns officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Inc.

Mr. Thurman is survived by eight sons, Edward Thurman Jr., Eddie Pettway, Eddie Thurman, Willie Thurman, Gary Thurman, Percy Thurman, Anthony Arnold, Jerome Thurman; three daughters, Gaile Clark, Lawanda White and Darlene Boyd and a sister, Callie Sanders.

at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor J. Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Miller Funeral Home directing.
