A weekend robbery where a pregnant employee was robbed at gunpoint continues to be investigated by the Selma Police Department.
The Pit Stop convenience store off Voeglin Avenue was robbed at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Store owner Delores Newberry said police had informed her of leads that indicate the suspects are likely in the neighborhood.
Thursday night, officials within the department were unable to verify that there were any leads in the investigation.
Newberry said she was at a funeral the afternoon the robbery occurred. A female employee was working, with her three-year-old daughter in the store with her.
An armed gunman approached the employee, Newberry said, and threatened her. While opening the register, the gunman told the employee that if she didn&8217;t move faster, he would shoot her.
The gunman escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, tobacco, and tobacco products.
Meanwhile, the business is back in operation, Newberry said, and things are all right.
