Charter cable TV and Internet services were interrupted in Selma on Thursday for several hours.

The cable was out part of the afternoon at The Selma Times-Journal, but calls to Charter at first refuted the newspaper&8217;s claim. Later, a customer service representative said an outage had not been reported.

Company customer service representatives could not say how many homes or businesses were affected, or for how long services were disrupted. Attempts by the newspaper to email Charter through its web site at www.charter.com resulted in an automated emailed response.

The local number to the Charter cable office on Citizens Parkway is unlisted. Calls to the toll-free Charter number did not result in getting a corporate spokesperson from its St. Louis, Mo., corporate headquarters.
