Mrs. Earle Godbold Zeigler
Earle Godbold Zeigler, 92, born in Bethel, died on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, in Selma.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Montgomery with the Rev. Dr. R. Lawson Bryan officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Friendship Room. Burial will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Zeigler graduated from Alabama College, which later became Montevallo, and taught Home Economics at Greenville High School. She and Fred Zeigler married Aug. 25, 1940. They moved to Montgomery on D-Day and became members of First United Methodist Church, where Mrs. Zeigler taught Sunday school and served as president of the United Methodist Women and was on the administrative board.
She also was active in Mothers Round Table, a garden club and a sewing club.
Mrs. Zeigler was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Zeigler Sr. and her daughter, Jean Z. Bedgood.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Fred E. Zeigler Jr. and wife Marilyn of Selma; son-in-law Charles H. Bedgood of Montgomery; grandchildren, Sara McFaddin (John) of Wetumpka; Sally Bedgood of Marina del Rey, Calif.; David M. Zeigler of Smyrna, Ga.; Jennifer Zeigler of Evanston, Ill.; and great-grandson Joshua McFaddin of Wetumpka.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Montgomery or the Stegall Seminary Scholarship Trust Fund.
