Ms. Juanita Kyzer McCary

Juanita Kyzer McCary, 86, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at the Western Carolina Baptist Home.

A native of Phenix City, Ala.,

before moving to Asheville,

N.C. She was a Charter

Member

of

Whitesburg

Baptist Church in Huntsville, Ala.

She was a

1938

graduate of Selma High School.

She

was

named

the

Volunteer of the Year for The

Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove, Asheville, N.C., in 2001.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest Leslie and Sarah Lodessa Carmack Kyzer and the wife of the late Garland H. McCary.

Surviving are her son

Robert Leslie McCary Sr. and wife June of Asheville; two

grandchildren, Rob McCary

of Weaverville and Heather McCary Edin of Durham and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Jessie Mae Wilson, 69, a resident of Selma, passed Thursday, Oct. 1, 2007, at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Mae Francis Pickett, 64, a resident of Selma, passed Friday Nov. 2, 2007, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Claude &8220;Nip&8221; Arnold Sr.

Claude &8220;Nip&8221; Arnold Sr., age 64, of Selma, Ala. passed away Nov. 2, 2007 .

Surviving are his wife Dian Arnold; sons, Shawn Arnold, Shane (Lisa) Arnold, Claude Rufus Arnold-Connelly (Jr); daughter, Marilea (Micheal) Kolenc; mother Ollie S. Arnold; brothers, Thomas F. (Mary) Arnold, Joe. J. Arnold and John P. Arnold; sisters Peggy (Jim) Shepard, Dixie (Larry) Snyder, Flora Robertson and Linda Dewees; and granddaughter Amber L. Kolenc.

Mr. Arnold&8217;s memorial service will be Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at 3 p.m. with William Sewell officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Arnold was a land surveyor, developer, craftsman, carpenter, musician

and beloved husband, father, and brother.

Mrs. Mildred Martin Crisman

Mildred Martin Crisman, age 84, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with Jesus on Nov. 3, 2007.

Graveside services will be held at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, Ala. at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, directed by Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mrs. Crisman was the daughter of John and Mattie Martin and was married to the late James C. Crisman Sr. for 56 years until his passing on Jan. 10, 1997.

A life long resident of Selma, Mrs. Crisman was the spiritual leader of our family who took delight in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends. She was blessed with the spiritual gift of encouragement and taught those around her to love one another and show compassion to others. We who are left behind will always cherish her memory in our hearts.

Mrs. Crisman is survived by her sons James &8220;Jimmie&8221; C. Crisman Jr. and Edwin Grey Crisman; daughter Connie Crisman Birk; nephew Glenn Ross Martin, nieces Sherrie Martin Riley and Deborah Martin Placilla.

Grandchildren: James &8220;Jay&8221; C. Crisman III, DVM, wife Jennifer, son James, and daughter Elizabeth; Kristen Crisman Mills, husband Jody, and daughter Brooke; John Tipton Birk; Margaret Birk Doss and husband Derek, who are expecting a baby girl in March 2008; Catherine Birk Kelly, husband Josh, and son Grey.

Ms. Zelma Andrews

Zelma Andrews, age 89, of Deatsville, Ala.., passed away Nov. 3, 2007.

Surviving are her sons, William Morrison (Allison) Reedy and Jim Reedy; daughters Mary Diane Lovett and Peggy Sue (Roger) Barlow; grandchildren William Michael Reedy, Nikki

Brock, Jennifer Adams, Hanna Barton, Shauna Reedy, Jon Erik Reedy, Tony and Bryan Barlow and great-grandchildren and Zachary and Macey Barnett, Connor Stoots and Austin Adams.

Mrs. Andrews was a long time employee of the Steak Pit and The Pancake House and loved her work as a waitress and also loved to shop and to fish.

Services will be Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at 11 a.m. with Gene Hisel officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
